Schoolyard Ecology Explorations

Students are exposed to current ecological research. The goal of Schoolyard Ecology Explorations is to increase student and teacher expertise in ecological research, natural history and sustainability. This program is developing a cohesive curriculum of learning activities in ecology and sustainability that can be implemented on school grounds through schoolyard nature areas. Such activities expose students to current ecological research and issues within the human-ecosystem interface, while directly engaging them in scientific observation and inquiry.

SEE offers Minnesota teachers an opportunity to participate in an intensive two-week workshop to learn about cutting edge ecological research that can inform and improve their classroom activities and teaching.
